As the weakest adult chromatic dragons (combat level 79), they are ideal for mid-level players looking to gain experience and profit. While they primarily dwell in the Wilderness, there are also safer alternatives for those seeking to avoid player killers (PKers). Below is a detailed guide to their key spawn locations.
1. Wilderness Locations: The Primary Spots
The majority of Green Dragons in OSRS are found in the Wilderness, a PvP zone where danger and reward go hand in hand. These spots are popular for their high spawn rates, but players must remain vigilant for PKers. Always bring an anti-dragon shield or anti-fire potion to negate their devastating dragonfire (up to 50 damage without protection) and teleport runes for quick escapes.
West of Dark Warriors' Fortress (Level 11-18 Wilderness)
One of the most accessible Wilderness spots, this location lies north of Goblin Village and west of the Dark Warriors' Fortress. It features 3 consistent spawns and is easy to reach from Edgeville-simply run north into the Wilderness and head west once you pass the Goblin Village.
This spot is ideal for players new to Green Dragon slaying, as it is in lower-level Wilderness (reducing PKer risk) and close to banking options via Sam the Cape Merchant. Avoid the northern area near the Bandit Camp, as it is far more dangerous.
North of Graveyard of Shadows (Level 24-26 Wilderness)
For players seeking more spawns, the area north of the Graveyard of Shadows offers 11 Green Dragon spawns-one of the highest concentrations in the game. This spot is slightly riskier due to its higher Wilderness level, and teleport tablets do not work here (as they are disabled beyond level 20 Wilderness).
To reach this location, teleport to the Graveyard of Shadows (requires 84 Magic for the Carralanger Teleport) and head north. There are safe spots for ranging, with 2 dragons near trees to the east, 2 to the west, and 1 in the middle.
Forinthry Dungeon (Level 18 Wilderness)
The Forinthry Dungeon is another reliable spot, housing 5 Green Dragon spawns. It is marginally closer to banks than the Dark Warriors' Fortress spot but carries slightly more risk due to nearby Greater Demons and revenants.
This dungeon is a good choice for players with decent combat stats, as the enclosed space can help avoid PKers, but it also means fewer escape routes. Ensure you have an anti-dragon shield and food to handle both the dragons and any unexpected threats.
2. Chaos Tunnels: A Safer Wilderness Alternative
If you want to avoid open Wilderness PvP but still access Green Dragons, the Chaos Tunnels are an excellent option. This underground network connects various parts of the Wilderness and features 7 Green Dragon spawns with no risk of PKers (as PvP is disabled here).
To reach the Chaos Tunnels, enter via the entrance north of cheap RS gold Edgeville or south of the Wilderness Volcano. The dragons here behave the same as their Wilderness counterparts, dropping dragon bones and green dragonhide consistently, making this spot perfect for ironmen or players who prefer a low-risk grind.
